Fine Gael party donation controversy

A new political donations row is brewing with a Government minister saying Fine Gael has serious questions to answer after confirmation that an overseas shareholder in Esat Digifone forwarded a donation to the party.

The donation from Telenor was returned but Minister of State Martin Cullen claims that action was only taken when it became clear the donation could be made public at the Moriarty Tribunal.
