Burke's Flood objections overturned
The Flood Tribunal has overruled objections by lawyers for Ray Burke to investigate the former Minister's personal accounts.
The lawyers had claimed no allegations were being made about Mr Burke's financial affairs, meaning the opening of his files was beyond the terms of reference.
Justice Flood said a particular portion of the Dáil Deputy's income was subject to the Inquiry within its terms of reference.
The Tribunal is now proceeding with its questioning of Deputy Burke, and is looking into his offshore banking accounts.
