AI products seized in Monaghan

Gardai and Department of Agriculture officials have seized a quantity of artificial insemination products for livestock at a foot and mouth checkpoint on the border.

The products, imported from the UK, were discovered as gardai searched a lorry which was being driven through the Co Monaghan town of Castleblayney.

A file is being prepared for the DPP.

The Department of Agriculture has set up a number of helplines which will operate from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday and 9am to 1pm on Sunday. To assist which specific queries on the current situation. The phone numbers are as follows:
