A Sinn Fein motion calling for a public inquiry into allegations of collusion between the RUC, British military intelligence and loyalist paramilitaries has been defeated in Stormont.

Instead, a DUP resolution praising the RUC and condemning the IRA was passed with Ulster Unionist support.
