A garda has been injured after being hit by a car, which failed to stop at a checkpoint that was set-up because of the foot and mouth scare.

A garda has been injured after being hit by a car, which failed to stop at a checkpoint that was set-up because of the foot and mouth scare.

The incident occurred in Co Monaghan at half past four this morning at Drumacon near Castleblaney.
