A man and a woman are in custody today after three pipe bombs were discovered during a security operation in Northern Ireland.

A man and a woman are in custody today after three pipe bombs were discovered during a security operation in Northern Ireland.

A number of homes were evacuated in a loyalist part of Newtownabbey, just outside north Belfast, while army bomb disposal experts carried out ongoing searches of the area, police said.
