Harney issues VAT warning to retailers

Tanaiste Mary Harney has warned retailers the Government will be reluctant to further reduce the VAT rate if they refuse to pass on the benefits.

Ms Harney was responding to reports that not all companies are passing on the reduction to their customers and insisted that consumers must reap the benefit.
