Guinness kidnapper's trial continues

The trial of a Dublin man accused of smuggling guns and drugs continued today in Amsterdam.

John Cunningham, aged 49, escaped from Shelton Abbey open prison in 1997, where he was serving a 17-year jail sentence for kidnapping Jennifer Guinness.

Today the court heard that weapons seized by police in the Netherlands had originated in the Balkans.
