Airline staff picket Dublin Airport over job transfers

Around 80 British Midlands staff are picketing the main entrance of Dublin Airport.

The baggage handlers and check-in operators are protesting at proposals to transfer a number of Dublin-based staff to a new firm, GHI. However, British Midlands flights are expected to go ahead as scheduled.

Speaking from the picket line, ATGWU shop steward Pat Gorry said the workers are seeking compensation for the transfer and guarantees over their pensions and flight concessions.
