A man has been charged in connection with a fatal stabbing in a Dublin restaurant.

Sukdev Singh Gill, 59, was found stabbed to death in his Dorset Street establishment on January 12.

A second man who was found lying nearby with stab wounds later recovered.

49-year-old Ram Pol, originally from the Punjab region, has been charged with assault causing serious harm at a hearing of Dublin District Court.

The accused, who has been living in Dublin for the past year, was arrested around noon yesterday and charged shortly before midnight.
