Shooting incident in Co Monaghan

A cross-border investigation is taking place into an incident in Co Monaghan in which a man is in hospital in the North suffering from gunshot wounds.

Gardai say the man, who is from the Republic, was admitted to hospital in Armagh after an incident on a farm a few miles from Monaghan Town.

It's understood a shot was discharged when the owner of the farm disturbed two men on his premises in the early hours of this morning.
