Classes resumed after the Christmas holidays today amid conflicting reports about whether the Leaving and Junior Cert exams will take place in the summer.

The Government is still insisting that with or without the ASTI it is all systems go for the exams - but the Teachers Union of Ireland has warned the exams will be unworkable without their ASTI colleagues.
