Twinning plaque stolen from street in Cork

The suspected theft of a ceremonial public plaque which was gifted to the people of Cork more than 30 years ago by one of its international twin cities is to be reported to gardaí.

It follows confirmation by officials that the city council was not involved in the removal of the large limestone plaque from a city suburb.

“It would appear that a third party may have been involved,” they said.
