The suspected theft of a ceremonial public plaque which was gifted to the people of Cork more than 30 years ago by one of its international twin cities is to be reported to gardaí.

A councillor leading the hunt for Cork’s ‘lost’ fountain has called for a nationwide audit of historic street furniture and public artefacts.
