Over 1,300 school-children go head-to-head at biggest ever Dell EMC VEX Robotics competition final in Cork at the Nexus Centre in CIT.

School-children go head-to-head in robotics competition

Pupils have spent the last six months planning, designing and building their  robots under the watchful eyes of their teachers and mentors from Dell EMC, Lifetime Lab and CIT.

The Dell EMC VEX Robotics initiative promotes STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) learning.

These were the day's winnners:

Excellence Award – Gaelscoil Thomáis Dabhis, Mallow

Design Award – Midleton CBS, Midleton

STEM Award - Gaelscoil Thomáis Dabhis, Mallow

Robot Skills – Scoil Eoin, Ballincollig

Teamwork Award - Gaelscoil Thomáis Dabhis, Mallow

Teamwork Award – St. Johns, Carrigaline

Judges Award – Presentation Primary, Fermoy

Sportsmanship Award – Roxborough, Limerick
