Man broke into ex’s house to see the dog

A woman was frightened by a phonecall from her ex-husband to say he had broken a window to get into her home and that there was a trail of blood in the house — but he only wanted to see the dog.

Frank Buttimer, solicitor, said there was nothing sinister about the actions of Mariusz Jakubowicz, aged 39, on September 19 at Highbury, Carrigaline, Co Cork, but he could understand that the defendant’s ex-wife became concerned.

The defendant’s wife had a protection order and contacted Garda James Landers as soon as she got the call from her ex-husband when she was at work on the day.
