‘It’s my culture not to swear’

A man with several previous convictions for bad behaviour told gardaí to fuck off and leave him alone during an early hours disturbance.

However, yesterday, he denied this and said: “It is in my culture not to swear at anyone.”

James McCarthy of 5 Barnavarra Crescent, Mayfield, Cork, was convicted on another charge of engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour arising out of the latest incident.
