A woman was injured yesterday after a gas canister exploded at a camp site in Co Clare.

The woman sustained burns to her face, hands and legs in the accident that happened at around 11.25am at the site in Doolin. It’s understood that a small gas cylinder exploded, however, there was no fire.

When the alarm was raised, there was no HSE ambulance available in the area so the local authority fire service was requested to attend and assist.
