Dublin based dissident republican Vincent Ryan died of gunshot wounds to the head. Ryan, from Grange Abbey Drive in Donaghmede, died on February 29, 2016.

At Dublin Coroner’s Court, where an inquest into his death was opened and adjourned, Ryan’s mother Marion gave evidence of how she identified her dead son’s body at the Mater Hospital on the day of his death.

Mrs Ryan, who lost a second son, Alan to gunshot wounds in 2012, formally identified her son’s body to Garda Conor Leen of Blanchardstown Garda Station on February 29 last.
