Town logo to help promote Youghal tourist hotspot

A prominent tourist and heritage destination in Co Cork has commissioned a new town logo.

Town logo to help promote Youghal tourist hotspot

Youghal is hoping the logo will become synonymous with the seaside town.

Featuring black lettering and blue graphic on a white background, it is available for any group or organisation wishing to use it in marketing their products or service, including online and print material.

It is hoped the logo will also feature prominently across various public structures and locations within and outside the town.

It logo was commissioned by Cork County Council through the East Cork Municipal District committee and was developed by the Youghal Socio-Economic Development Group (YSEDG).

The identity was developed by Cork-based design and web agency Studio Forty 9, which is also developing a new official website for the town.

The development comes as Youghal prepares to re-open its Clock Gate tower as a visitor attraction and the town’s inclusion in Youghal in the Ireland’s Ancient East initiative.

Outlining the logo initiative, Ms Murray says: “Youghal has taken huge steps in regenerating itself over past eight or 10 years but this had not been reflected in any one clear brand identity.

“We believe this logo focuses on the town’s significant heritage offering, both natural and built heritage and replicates the improved ‘look’ and experience of Youghal as a destination for both domestic and overseas visitors.”

Youghal Chamber CEO Siobhán Sheehan says her organisation has already used the logo across a range of marketing materials and ad has “been well received”.

She believes it will provide “a huge marketing boost” for Youghal.
