Charge of dangerous driving causing death

A 32-year-old man has appeared in court charged with dangerous driving causing the death of a cyclist on the N22 main Killarney to Tralee road on a Sunday morning last November.

Charge of dangerous driving causing death

Sean O’Mahony, of Ballybeggan, Tralee, is charged that on November 15 last, at Scart, Farranfore, he drove a vehicle in a manner (including speed), which having regard to all the circumstances of the case (including the condition of the vehicle, the nature, condition, and use of such place and the amount of traffic which then actually was or might reasonably be expected then to be therein) was dangerous to the public, thereby causing the death of Edward Duggan.

Mr O’Mahony, when charged yesterday morning, was asked if he had a reply, and he said “no”, said Garda Damien J Callinan.
