Two Cork support groups are set to benefit from donations made following the death of singer songwriter, Black, best-known for his 1980s hit Wonderful Life.

And the late Colin Vearncombe’s family has also released a song track, and a poignant video message he recorded last year for his fans on his mailing list, the so-called ‘Black list’, in which he thanked them for their support over the years.

The family also thanked the public for their generosity following his death and said almost €6,000 in donations would be split between the West Cork Rapid Response service, and Brú Columbanus, the accommodation facility in Wilton for families of long-stay patients at Cork University Hospital (CUH), where Mr Vearncombe died in January.
