The 'Timeline 1916 exhibition' and the film 'GPO 1916, Eyewitnesses to History' will run until May 20 at Cork City Hall.

1916 audio visual display and film opens at Cork City Hall

The project is part of the Cork City Council’s programme to commemorate the 1916 Rising.

Located in the concert Hall the 'Timeline 1916' exhibition consists of a moving visual display depicting scenes and explanations of the lead up to, the happenings and the aftermath of the Easter Rising in 1916.

Projectors are used to convey the timeline, each section lasts approximately three minutes starting at World War 1 and working its way through some of the various activities that took place, primarily in Dublin, with one unit explaining Cork's contribution during to the Rising.

In addition there is a film showing entitled 'GPO 1916 Eyewitnesses to History' which is based on eyewitness accounts of some of the people who were in the GPO during the Rising,

The exhibition is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.
