A Canadian musician who was ‘electrocuted’ as she performed at a prominent Dublin theatre has absolved the venue of any blame for technical issues that plagued her set on Tuesday night.

Canadian singer absolves venue over shock

Electronic pop act Grimes — real name Claire Boucher — suffered a number of mishaps that interrupted the sold out show in the Olympia. In a since-deleted tweet, Grimes disclosed she was ‘electrocuted’ during the set.

She has since taken to social media to absolve the venue of blame. “Hey! just wanna apologize to the Olympia theatre that I originally thought they were responsible for the electrical issues at last nights show,” the artist posted on her Instagram page yesterday.

“We’ve triple checked everything and haven’t yet discovered what the issue was. The Irish promoters were nothing but lovely and I don’t want them to take the blame for something that was most likely on our end. I also want to reiterate that everyone on my team and especially my audio guys did everything they could without stopping the show.

“I just wanted to say something so no one loses their job or gets in trouble for an issue that, as far as I can tell, was outside of everyone’s control,” the singer posted.
