Boy gets €73,000 damages after gate collapsed on him

A boy who was injured when a heavy nine foot gate he was playing beside collapsed has settled his High Court action for €73,000.

Angel Dreucean was only five years old when he was seriously injured after the gate suddenly snapped off its hinges as he played in a Dublin inner city flat complex.

Mr Justice Kevin Cross in the High Court was told it took firemen 55 minutes to extract the boy from under the gate.
