Burrito bars among food businesses told to close
The FSAI has revealed the latest businesses to be served closure orders for breaches of food safety legislation.
The closure orders were issued by environmental health officers in the HSE.
Mama’s Revenge Burrito Hut and Little Ass Burrito, both in Dublin 2, were served closure orders under the EC (Official Control of Foodstuffs) Regulations, 2010.
Also served closure orders were the Orchid Harbour restaurant in Kilmuckridge, Co Wexford; Kelleghan Catering Limited in Tallow, Co Waterford; and Mad Cow Milkshakes, Burgers, & Kebabs in Cabra, Dublin 7.
The closure order served on Little Ass Burritos related to preparation and cooking of raw chicken only, while Kelleghan Catering was served in relation to the preparation and supply of ready-to-eat food to other food businesses.
Stockwell Artisan Foods restaurant in Drogheda, Louth was served a closure order served under the FSAI Act, 1998.
FSAI chief executive Pamela Byrne said consumers must be confident at all times that their food is safe to eat.
