Forget cutting taxes is the EU’s warning to any incoming government, heavily criticising the last “seven years of sharply reduced government investment” which had taken a toll on the quality and adequacy of infrastructure.

The EU yesterday advised any new government to focus spending on infrastructure, in particular education.
