Further rainfall due for weekend as Met Éireann issues status yellow rain warning

Further rainfall is forecast for much of the south and south east over the weekend with already-flooded areas to bear the brunt.

And flooding will be the number one item on the Cabinet agenda at next Tuesday’s meeting.

Environment Minister Alan Kelly is to bring a memo about the delivery of a national flood forecasting system, demanded by junior minister Simon Harris.
