Both men and women think males are more savvy when buying cars

In a somewhat hollow victory for the male of the species, a survey of an equal number of men and women respondents found 84% believe men are savvier car buyers than women.
However, car buying among couples reveals a distinct lack of trust, the Carzone.ie survey also showed.
More than half of respondents said they would not trust their partner to buy a car, and up to 20% are not confident in their own ability to buy a car.
The study found the key traits consumers look for in a car dealer, in buying or selling a car, is trustworthiness (87%), knowledge (67%), and level of friendliness (45%).
In terms of what were the primary considerations for car buyers, mileage (92%) was the single most important check for all consumers on used cars, followed by fuel type (83%) and NCT certification (75%).
Commenting on the findings, managing director of Carzone.ie Warren Cray said that the findings showed an insight into what considerations are important for Irish car buyers.
“We understand the importance of a safe, trustworthy, environment for used car transactions and the insight in this survey helps our users to make informed decisions,” he said.
