Guilty plea from Cork man in tax return fraud case

A man aged 52, facing 296 counts of dishonesty, by using a computer to defraud the Revenue Commissioners on tax returns, pleaded guilty to sample counts on indictment yesterday.

Kevin O’Neill, of 18 Radharc an Bhaile, Cork Rd, Bandon, Co Cork, faced the prospect of trial at Cork Circuit Criminal.

The case was listed for trial and a jury was about to be sworn in to hear the case but defence barrister Tom Power applied to have the accused arraigned on 22 sample charges. O’Neill pleaded guilty to all of those sample counts.
