A Cork teenager is recovering in hospital after falling from the roof of a nightclub in Kinsale at the weekend. Ciara O’Brien, 18, was attending a party at The Moorings nightclub when the accident happened. Her injuries have been described as extremely serious but are not thought to be life-threatening.

A father and son rescued after 28 hours trapped in a cave in Co Clare have admitted they did not prepare properly in advance. Patrick Troy and his son Finn spent Saturday night underground after they went caving in Pollnagollum in North Clare.
