The banking inquiry will be told today if it can accept video-link evidence from the former Anglo boss David Drumm , amid warnings it could face a legal challenge.

However, members of the inquiry may object to the video link testimony from the US — or even face being kicked out of the probe — as TDs and senators are split on facilitating the ex-banker.

The inquiry is entering its final phase and will adjourn for the summer this week before its last hearings in September.
