Berkeley birthday girl ‘getting stronger’

Niall Murray and Jack Halpin, two of those injured in the Berkeley balcony collapse, are due to travel home to Ireland next week.

The students, who were seriously injured when a fourth-floor balcony peeled off a building in Berkeley, California last month, are awaiting medical approval to return to Ireland.

Fellow survivor Sean Fahey was discharged last month and has already travelled home to Ireland, while Conor Flynn has also been discharged but is unable to fly due to a punctured lung. He is staying with his family in rented accommodation in the San Francisco Bay area.
