Andy Lee gets ready to rumble in Thomond Park

The red cauldron of Munster Rugby simmered politely yesterday as boxing big hitters Andy Lee and Billy Joe Saunders squared up to each other at Thomond Park for the announcement of their world title fight there on September 19.

Lee’s WBO Middleweight title will be on the line when he faces the unbeaten Saunders, from England.

Veteran sports presenter Jim Rosenthal introduced the fighters, remarking that on many such pre-fight occasions he has found himself in the middle of angry dust-ups involving agitated fighters.
