Daniel O’Donnell gets B&B tour with Majella off to romantic start

Singing sensation Daniel O’Donnell and wife Majella yesterday started their two-week tour of Ireland’s bed and breakfast businesses.

The celebrity couple are filming their road trip especially for UTV, with a television series based on their travels due to be broadcast later in the year.

Daniel got things off to a romantic start when he drew his and Majella’s initials inside a love-heart on a beach.

The couple also took a picture of themselves beside the car they will be using on their road-trip. The couple’s schedule remains a secret so they can surprise bed and breakfast owners along the way.

However, Daniel posted a picture of the couple in Lough Key Forest Park in Co Roscommon yesterday.

Daniel revealed recently how he has signed up to take acting classes in Galway over the summer, so they may well be heading along the Wild Atlantic Way.

Daniel revealed: “We thought it would be nice to show people the different parts of Ireland.

“It’s nothing new for me. When we used to do the dances down the West we would stay somewhere locally and I was used to staying in certain B&Bs. It’s showing Ireland as if we did a full circle and staying in more out-of-the way places than people are used to. We said we would like to look at places that are not on the map.

“I see it as a travel show. I suppose it will be like a bit of a reality show and it should be good fun. If it works it works,and if it doesn’t then we’ll never speak about it again.”

Daniel said he is easily pleased and he insisted it is not an inspection of Ireland’s bed and breakfasts.

He also revealed he was hoping the show will be broadcast in America and give a much-needed boost for Irish tourism.
