Micheál Martin’s grip on Fianna Fáil, ahead of the looming general election, has been strengthened by a poll bounce.

Despite Mr Martin’s public spat with Senator Averil Power, as she stormed out of the party accusing him of “cowardice”, the party leader’s assured handling of the Siteserv/IBRC controversy has appealed to voters.

Fianna Fáil has climbed above the 20% mark for the first time in a year, in a poll by Behaviour & Attitudes, for the Sunday Times.
