VIDEO : New Sensory Garden at Beaumont Girls National School

The summer is here and the pupils of Beaumont Girls N.S. are enjoying the first scents of their new sensory garden.

The sensory garden opened officially on Friday, 12th June. A labour of love for parents, grandparents, pupils and staff, the garden has been a huge educational resource since its creation in 2011.

Mrs. Mary Sexton, teacher, says: “The success of our garden has gone beyond our wildest dreams. From very humble, basic beginnings, it has now become one of the most popular experiences for all classes.”  The pupils of Mrs. Sexton’s 5th Class placed their new hand-crafted mosaic sign in the garden marking 4 years of planting and growth.
