Postman shocked by assault from the sky

A postman needed medical treatment after being attacked by a crow.

The Co Donegal postman was doing his rounds on Wednesday when he was suddenly attacked on the head by the winged warrior.

The postie was pecked in the head from behind leaving him shocked and in distress.

He had to have a tetanus injection as a precaution.

It is still not known why the bird attacked him.

A colleague revealed: “He’s fine now but he was pretty shocked by it. You can just imagine, anything attacking you out of the blue. He didn’t even see it.

“He initially thought someone had thrown something at him but had to defend himself when he saw the crow. It sounds funny now but at the time it was anything but.”

His encounter has not gone unnoticed by his workmates. One treated the man to a rendition of the ‘Birdie Song’ when he arrived for work the next day.
