It’s time to talk about Mental Health
The event was launched this morning by Green Ribbon ambassadors, volunteers and members of Trinity College Students Union.
The initiative plans to encourage Irish people to talk about mental health and challenge the stigma that surrounds mental health problems.
The Green Ribbon campaign is a month long social movement through the month of May to get Ireland talking about mental health.

Sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is to let someone know that you are there for them. You do not need to have all of the answers.
Simply being there will mean a lot.
As a first step, ask them how best you can help.
Phrases like ‘Cheer up’, ‘I’m sure it’ll pass’ and ‘Pull yourself together’ definitely will not help. Being open minded, non-judgemental and listening will.
There are lots of small ways of showing support. You can send a text or just ask someone how they are doing.
Just be yourself, chat about everyday things as well.
