Gardaí pleased with clampdown

Three men remain in custody and several of the 30 vehicles seized by gardaí during a major clampdown at the annual Rally of the Lakes in Killarney remain impounded.

Gardaí in Killarney made 26 arrests over the weekend including four for minor assaults, one arrest for criminal damage and a number of drink driving, drug and other offences.

Sgt Dermot O’Connell said gardaí were pleased with the outcome but would be undertaking an even stronger approach next year.
