Indiependence adds Basement Jaxx to line-up
Deer Farm in Mitchelstown will be reverberating to the sounds of ‘Where’s My Head At?’ during the August bank holiday weekend as Indiependence has added floor-filling dance duo Basement Jaxx to its headline billing.
Those having ‘High Hopes’ that the festival would follow last year’s triumphant Hozier set with another top Irish act will be pleased with the addition of Kodaline.
The line-up already boasts world-renowned headliners in Ash, The Dandy Warhols, and The Mark Lanegan Band.

As always, Indiependence is dominated by both established Irish acts and the newest emerging bands from across the island. Jape, Ham Sandwich, Gavin James, and RSAG are the eye-catching Irish names playing across the weekend, and they are joined by up-and-comers such as Foy Vance, Orla Gartland, Wyvern Lingo, The Academic, Little Hours, The Original Rudeboys, and All Tvvins.
UK bands Embrace and Admiral Fallow will also take to the stage and, in keeping with previous years, Indie15 will host some of the newest groups in Cork music, including Elastic Sleep, The Vincent(s), MKAI, and Mindriot.
This year’s Spoken Word Stage is presented by Wasps Vs Humans, and is headlined by Manchester author and poet Mike Garry and Dundalk troubadour Jinx Lennon, along with thought-provoking debates as part of Culture Vultures.
The stage will also feature The Co-Present digital radio station, hosted by Dwyane Woods and Niamh Farrell (lead singer of Ham Sandwich),and will feature a lively stream of guests.
The festival will also have a comedy bill curated by Andrew Stanley — the line-up for this will be announced soon — a silent disco, and late-night DJs in the Bier Halle.
