Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa casket to go on display in West Cork

A steel casket used to transport the remains of ‘Ireland’s most famous Fenian’ is be restored and placed on display in West Cork.

The casket that housed the remains of Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa, who died almost 100 years ago, was located on a farm and later stored in a shed for 55 years.

O’Donovan Rossa represents one of the most important figures in the history of Irish republicanism between the Famine and the 1916 Rising.
