No delay to salary increases for thousands of higher-earning teachers
They will not face the same delays as tens of thousands of school staff, mostly teachers in the early stages of their careers, who are only this week starting to receive salary increments that should have been paid two months ago.
The department’s payroll software was unable to make changes in time to update the pay of those earning under €65,000 who were due to move up the pay scale in December. Those raises would have been due last September but, under the terms of the 2013 Haddington Road Agreement (HRA), were paused for three months.
