350 jobs for tech and sales sectors

Global management consulting and technology services company Accenture is to create 250 jobs here by the end of August while a sales firm is to create 100 jobs in Dundalk.

A spokeswoman said Accenture was looking for people with a wide range of skills from experienced executive to entry level.

She said its recruitment drive would focus primarily on professionals who offer:

- Technology, digital, and analytical skills across key areas including SAP (systems, applications, and products in data processing); Oracle; cloud computing; and, in particular, analytics;

- Industry expertise across financial services, communications, media, and entertainment, and the food and agricultural sector.

“There is a wealth of talent in this country, and we are pleased to offer the opportunity to develop careers with Accenture,” said Alastair Blair, the company’s managing director in Ireland. The firm employs more than 1,600 people here.

“Professionals who join our team will have access to the latest technology and will receive training and professional development opportunities to expand their business, industry and technical skills.”

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton said the ICT sector is a key area of growth and new technologies were changing business models and providing opportunities for new products and services across every sector of the economy.

Meanwhile in Dundalk, SalesSense is to create 100 jobs with the opening of what it describes as a “fully cloud-based customer engagement centre”.

SalesSense, which was founded in 2006, specialises in field sales and customer service centres, and already has locations in Galway and Dublin.
