Cobh couple to be buried together

Michael and Valerie Greaney, who died in a murder-suicide, are to be laid to rest side by side after separate funerals.

Michael Greaney, 53, from Ballyhea in north Cork, reposed at Hawes Funeral Home in Charleville last night. Valerie, 49, reposed at Cobh hospital mortuary.

It is understood Mr Greaney took his life last Sunday after stabbing his wife at their home in Cobh. Their daughter Michelle, 21, was stabbed a number of times but managed to escape. She is recovering in hospital.
