Almost one fifth of households have no domestic access to the internet.

One in five homes have no access to the internet

The main reasons cited for not having any access were ‘not needed’ (42%) and ‘a lack of skills’ (39%).

According to the CSO, figures on Ireland’s information society show an estimated 82% of households had access to the internet at home this year. The total was up from 63% in 2008 and unchanged from last year.
