Changes urged to handling of concussions

State funding for sporting organisations should be linked to the completion of concussion training courses by referees, doctors, and coaches, an Oireachtas committee has urged.

The compulsory recording of sports-related concussion incidents in schools and activities involving children is also “strongly recommended” in a report by the joint committee on health and children.
