The head of Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) has said there will be a demand for skilled young craftspeople as the economy recovers.

Dr Brendan Murphy was speaking as some of the country’s top young carpenters, plasters and other skilled crafts people were honoured at a IrelandSkills National Competition held at CIT, and as Bord Pleanála gave the green light for a new road in to the CIT campus which will facilitate the development of a massive science and innovation park.
