The Script rescue car crash woman

The Script showed their smash hit ‘Superheroes’ isn’t just a song title when they came to the rescue of a woman involved in a car crash.

The Script rescue car crash woman

Danny O’Donoghue, Mark Sheehan, and Glen Power were on their tour bus on the M40 heading out of London when the crash unfolded before them.

Mark said: “I just heard the [bus] driver say ‘Oh my God’ and we saw this girl spinning out of control on the motorway. It was in the fast lane too. Then she hit the dividing barrier and the car literally flipped around some more.”

The band were recounting the incident on Manchester radio station Key103 just a few hours later.

Danny said: “We jumped out and headed straight over to her car. I tried the door first and the door was totally jammed, it wouldn’t open. She was just looking straight forward in shock. I was just trying to get her attention, knocking on the window [saying] ‘Are you all right, love? Are you all right?’”

Mark noticed smoke coming from the engine and he ripped the door open. The men helped the woman to the side of the road, put her jacket around her, and brought her onto the tour bus and gave her something to drink.

Danny said the realisation soon dawned on the woman as to who had rescued her: “She was thawing out a little bit and coming to and she was like ‘Oh my God, it’s The Script!’ She is a big fan of the band, so that was amazing.”
