Air passenger numbers on the rise

Almost 25m people passed through Irish airports last year, with Dublin Airport accounting for eight out of 10 of all passengers.

The figures are contained in the CSO’s Transport Omnibus figures for 2013, which show that the number of people passing through Irish airports are steadily rising again.

While still some way below the peak year of 2008 when 31.3m went through Irish airports, the numbers have now been rising year on year since 2011, with last years figure of 24.7m up almost 1m on the 2012 figure.
